Arthur C. Johnson, II is a partner of the firm Johnson Ivancevich, LLP in Merrillville, Indiana. Art focuses his practice on civil and business litigation, as well as labor, employment, and construction litigation. Art has tried numerous cases in both state and federal venues involving personal injury, labor disputes and employment discrimination matters. In one case, he helped obtain the second quickest defense verdict in his firm’s history. He has had great success representing a variety of clients in numerous labor arbitrations as well as defending against charges of discrimination before the EEOC, where his clients have yet to obtain an unfavorable finding. As a result of his experience and success in the fields of labor, employment and construction law, Art was nominated and selected as legal counsel for the Northwest Indiana Business Roundtable. Art is admitted to practice before the state bar of Indiana, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the Northern District of Illinois, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

In 2010, Art was nominated by his peers and was selected by Indiana Lawyer as one of Indiana’s fifteen Up and Coming Lawyers in the state. Indiana Lawyer’s Leadership in Law awards, including its Up and Lawyer’s award, are awarded to attorneys who have shown a commitment to their profession and the clients they serve. Additionally, Art was an adjunct professor of personnel law at Purdue University, Calumet Campus.

Art is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, and is a member of the Renaissance Executive Forums. He is also a contributing author to Building Indiana on the topics of labor and employment law. Art has also served on numerous executive boards, as well as being a founding Committee Member of the Crown Point Community Foundation’s Spring Into Action Volunteer Fair.
